Rumors of a more powerful, athlete-focused Apple Watch circulated in the run-up to launch iPhone 14 and other appliances this week, and a new set of design leaks added more fuel to the fire.
Tipsters Sonny Dickson and UnclePan shared new photos (he Twitter (opens in a new tab) and Weibo (opens in a new tab)which purportedly detail a third party accessory series for the still pre-named Apple Watch Pro. Most importantly, these silicone-looking cases feature cutouts that, if accurate, confirm previous rumors touting the addition of an all-new button and larger display to a hotly anticipated wearable device.
There is also a significant protrusion on the right-hand side in these cases, which appears to accommodate a larger digital crown, designed to be more easily accessible to fast-moving users in the open air (read: die-hard athletes). Check out the photos below.
In addition to the new button and larger digital crown, the Apple Watch Pro will reportedly come with a noticeably larger displaywhich allows users to view fitness data and health monitoring simultaneously.
This, according to Apple’s chief reporter Bloomberg, Mark Gurmanwhich claims the Pro model – which is supposed to be a beefed-up version of the Apple Watch 8 – will also come with redesigned watch faces and a new Low Power Mode.

It’s worth clarifying that Apple itself hasn’t officially mentioned the Apple Watch Pro yet, but we’re confident of its existence, in one guise or another, given the number of promising leaks we’ve seen in recent weeks. It’s a product that feels like a logical next step for Apple as well, as the company has brought Pro versions to almost all of its major product groups (think iPhones, MacBooks, and AirPods).
We expect an official announcement for the device in the upcoming brand Apple eventscheduled for September 7, where we also expect to be unveiled Apple Watch SE 2 and Apple Watch Series 8.
